Trocaire College offers individual counseling appointments to all students free of charge. For many, the college years mark an important time of personal growth and change. Individual counseling can help you improve your ability to manage life stressors in more healthy ways to work towards reaching your full potential. It is the goal of counseling services to help students towards achieving personal, social, and academic success.
Common reasons students may seek counseling may include:
- Grief or Loss
- Relationship concerns
- Academic stress
- Low self-esteem
- Substance abuse
- Self-Injury or Suicidal thoughts
If a needed service cannot be provided, appropriate community referrals will be made.
The Student Counseling Virtual Pamphlet Collection was developed by Dr. Robert Hsiung and can be accessed through the University of Chicago’s Virtual Pamphlet Collection. This collection of pamphlets contains a variety of topics that have been published by Counseling Centers across the nation to be used a resource. A virtual pamphlet put out by another university may refer to services available only on that campus, and you should contact The Student Counseling Office at Trocaire to talk about what on-campus counseling services are available.
