Counseling Services

A student’s mental health is an important component of their overall wellness and success. The Wellness Center provides counseling, education, resources, and support for students at Trocaire College.

The Counseling Office is located in The Wellness Center in Room 118 on Choate Campus.

Individual Counseling

The goal of the Counseling Office is to provide short-term counseling to help students manage current stressors and identify more effective strategies to improve their ability to function socially and/or academically to achieve their goals. Students are able to schedule up to five counseling sessions per calendar year, with additional support, referral information, and resources available as needed. For students with issues that require longer-term counseling or more intensive treatment, our counselor will work with students individually to make the best plan for them and refer to an appropriate community provider.

How to schedule an appointment

Students can email [email protected] or call the Wellness Center at 716-827-2579.

What to expect the first session?

Students can print and fill out a copy of the initial appointment information form and confidentiality statement below prior to the first session, or can plan to come 15 minutes prior to their first meeting to fill out in the Wellness Center. Upon completion of the forms, the counselor will meet with the student for an initial meeting to further talk about concerns, what the student would like to work on in counseling, and develop an appropriate plan for treatment.

Please fill out this form before your first appointment with Counseling Services.

Crisis Counseling

If you are in need of a crisis visit, please contact the Wellness Center 716-827-2579 as soon as possible and state need for urgency. Student crisis will be prioritized and students will be seen as quickly as possible.
