Student Graduation Speaker Information

Serving as Student Commencement Speaker is an honor open to any graduating Trocaire College student. It’s a chance to speak about your time at Trocaire and your personal journey that got you to this point, give advice or words of wisdom, and celebrate the awesome accomplishment you and your graduating class are sharing as you walk across the stage.

For the upcoming December 2022 Commencement, Student Speaker Applications are due no later than Friday, October 14, 2022. Please complete the form below and submit it by the deadline to be considered.

The Student Commencement Speaker is an expected graduate for December 2022 who is in good standing  (academic, financial, conduct) with their program and the college. The student speaker prepares a three to five minute speech reflecting on their time at Trocaire and connections they have shared with their classmates. They must also acquire a brief recommendation from a current Trocaire College faculty or staff member by the application deadline date for consideration. The student will share the name and their staff member/faculty member will be notified.

Students may be nominated by their peers to be the Student Commencement Speaker. The student must meet the criteria and then formally submit the Student Speaker Application by the deadline. Students who plan to be the speaker must plan to attend the December 2022 Commencement Ceremony on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 6:00 PM (speaker must arrive no later than 4:45 PM).

The student speaker is extended extra tickets, priority seating at the venue, and the student is part of the processing Platform Party to sit on stage during the ceremony.
