Commencement Greetings Delay7/30/2020

Greetings May 2020 Graduates, I hope that this communication finds you and yours safe and well. Trocaire College continues to hold the safety and wellbeing of our students and employees as our top priority as we combat the historic and catastrophic circumstances that surround COVID19. In doing so the college will adhere to the safety guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the New York State Governor’s Office. Though it was our hope that a commencement ceremony could be held by the end of the summer, I’m writing to you today to inform you that due to the continued need to keep gatherings of people to a safe level, it is not feasible to do so. Rather, at this time we plan to combine the Spring 20 and Fall 20 Commencements to be held in December 2020, with the caveat that it is safe to do so, and that our reserved venue (UB Center for the Arts) will allow it. If this December Commencement does occur, diploma covers, as well as cap and gowns, will be provided by the college for those attending the ceremony. Further updates will be provided as they become available. Please visit: https://my.trocaire.edu/graduation-information/ for updated information. Commencement is a sacred time shared by the campus community, and the manner in which we recognize and celebrate the remarkable achievements and diligent work of our graduates. Yet the current circumstances require that we maintain the safety of our students and their families as our first priority. Your understanding and patience is greatly appreciated as we all work together to navigate the circumstances of this pandemic. Wishing you safety and good health, Kathleen Saunders Chief Student Affairs Officer
