The Advisement & Student Service Center strives to support and enhance the persistence, retention, and degree completion of Trocaire College students. Using a case management model that encourages collaborative relationships between advisors and students, Student Service Advisors provide a comprehensive range of services that empower our students to take responsibility for their educational, career, and life goals and increase overall student success.

In order to register for courses, all students must first meet with their academic advisor to be unlocked for online registration.
Who is my assigned academic advisor
All students receive an email notification in their Trocaire.edu email account during the second week of each semester from the Director of the Advisement & Student Service Center informing them of their advisor’s name and contact information.
Is Advisement required?
Yes, advisement is mandatory for all students prior to registering for classes for the following semester. In addition, students who are new to Trocaire must meet with their Student Service Advisor within the first month of the semester. All students are encouraged to meet with their advisor at any time throughout the semester when they need assistance.
When should I meet my advisor?
Use your advisor as a resource for information and direction whenever you need help. Seek out your advisor when you have questions regarding your schedule, program, policies and procedures.
- Your advisor will help you understand the early alert process, the midterm warning process and academic probation.
- See your advisor if you are considering changing your program, withdrawing from a class or the college or taking a leave of absence.
- Make an appointment with your advisor prior to registering for classes. You must be unlocked by your advisor in order to register online.
Student Responsibilities
- Meet or speak with their new advisor within the first four weeks of each semester for introductions.
- Meet with their advisor each semester (October/March) to discuss course registration for the next semester and to be unlocked for on-line registration.
- Come prepared to their advisement meeting with questions or material for discussion, i.e., course selections, degree audit, etc.
- Respond to advisor communications regarding appointments, Academic Alerts and Mid-Term Warnings.
- Clarify their personal values and goals and provide their advisor with accurate information regarding their interests and abilities.
- Become knowledgeable about the college’s academic policies and procedures and their program’s graduation requirements.
- Be an active learner and gather all relevant decision-making information as suggested by their advisor and course instructors.
- Ask questions if they do not understand an issue or have a specific concern.
- Accept responsibility for their decisions.
