Commencement Information

 

Welcome to the official Commencement Information page at Trocaire College!

The May 2024 Commencement Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, with a ceremony start time of 7:00 PM EST. 

A ticket is required to attend this event. Only graduates in attendance will have their names announced.

 

Graduation Application – NOW CLOSED

All expected graduates for the May 2024 semester must complete the Graduation Application by Friday, February 23, 2024. No late forms will be accepted.

 

Graduate Information for the Ceremony

All graduates are to arrive at the venue for line-up and instructions no later than 6:00 p.m. – do not be late!

Graduates must wear their graduation outfits, comfortable shoes, and regalia (cap, gown, 2024 tassel).

 

Guest Information

This is a ticketed entry event hosted by the college. A ticket must be presented for entry for guests three years old and older.

 

Commencement Tickets

Expected graduates will receive a set amount of tickets. Guests must have a ticket to enter the ceremony if they are three or older. These tickets are separate from pinning and/or professional recognition ceremony tickets handled by the academic programs.

 

Commencement Student Speaker – NOW CLOSED

Commencement Student Speaker applications are due on Friday, March 15, 2024. Speakers will be reviewed later in March.

 

Eligibility:

  • Spring/Summer 2024 graduate
  • In good standing (academic, financial, and conduct) with the College this includes reaching the benchmark on HESI V1 & V2 for nursing graduates
  • Attending the Commencement Ceremony

 

How Do I Apply:

If chosen, you will receive additional tickets for guests with priority seating at the UB Center for the Arts. You will also sit on the platform (stage) during the ceremony.

Graduation Application

All expected graduates are to complete the Graduation Application to confirm the completion of their respective degrees and certificate programs. Students are to complete this regardless of their attendance status at Commencement.

All expected graduates for the May 2024 semester must complete the Graduation Application by Friday, February 23, 2024. No late forms will be accepted.at 11:59 p.m. EST

Upon successful completion of this form, students will receive an email to their Trocaire.edu email.

The Registrar’s Office will certify certificates and degrees for graduates using the conferral date listed below:
Spring 2024 – June 1st

Diplomas are mailed to our graduates, who do not have any outstanding holds, after the degree has been conferred.

Graduates who have a student hold receive their diplomas after the hold(s) are removed.

Please notify the Registrar’s Office if your address or name has changed since you completed the Graduation Application

Students who meet the following minimum criteria will receive graduation honors which are awarded on the basis of the final cumulative grade point average (CGPA). 

  • Certificate with merit: 3.40 – 4.0 CGPA
  • Degree with distinction: 3.40 – 3.59 CGPA
  • Degree with high distinction: 3.60 – 4.0 CGPA
  • Degree with highest distinction: 4.0 CGPA

Please note that the Commencement Program is produced prior to the release of final grades.  Students will have their cumulative grade point average, based on their midterm grades, factored into their honor recognition at Commencement.

Students with Honors will be announced at Commencement. For example: Jane Smith, with High Distinction.

Students who are part of the following groups are recognized at Commencement:

  • Graduation Honors, announced, no cords
  • Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, must be members of the Alpha Pi Eta chapter at Trocaire
  • Alum From Day One, cords
  • Veteran and Active Military, cords
  • Lambda Nu, cords

Students will be notified of their cords prior to Commencement.

Students may request an electronic copy of their transcript through the Electronic Transcript Request Form on the Registrar’s webpage. Paper transcripts are also available. 

 

We encourage all graduates to keep their names and other contact information up-to-date with the Registrar’s Office. If you had a name or address change recently, we encourage all  expected and recent graduates to update their information on your eStudent Portal.

Name Changes

Students with name changes shall change them prior to Week 5 of the academic semester using the Name Change Request Form. Students who plan on changing their names must provide the additional requested supplemental documents to the Registrar Office through this form.

Diplomas will be mailed after conferral to the address on file with the college.

Graduates are encouraged to keep their contact information current to stay connected!

 

Diploma – Mailing Address Changes

We encourage students to check their eStudent Portal to ensure their address is current with the college. Students who need to update their address with the college should do so prior to Week 10 of the semester. Diplomas will be mailed to students upon successful degree completion and conferral. Students who need to update their address are instructed to change it using the Diploma – Different Address Than eStudent Form.

You will be inducted in the Trocaire College Alumni Association upon graduation. The association provides a point of contact, support, and connections with other alumni and the college. To speak with someone in the Alumni Office, contact [email protected].
